Foster a Puppy
Foster a Puppy
How to Become a Foster
The next step in the Puppy B.R.E.A.T.H. program, fostering continues to focus on providing experiences that enrich the puppy’s early development, encouraging concepts such as training, socialization, and exposure.
The Foster Experience
Prior to fostering, all foster parents must attend an orientation that will provide important information as well as expectations for the fostering process.
Supplies and Care
We will provide all supplies and veterinary care that the foster puppy will need while being fostered.
Enrichment Classes
Puppies will have the wonderful opportunity to attend enrichment classes during both weeks of fostering. Classes are held Monday through Friday. Puppies can be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. and should be picked up at 5:30 p.m.
Enrichment classes are held at the University of Doglando, located at 12276 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32826.
Spay/Neuter
All puppies are expected to be spayed/neutered. We will let you know the date that they will need to be brought to the Village. On the day of, they will need to be brought to The Village in the morning and picked up in the late afternoon. Specific times will be provided closer to that date. The Doglando Foundation will take them to their appointment and care for them until pick-up time.
Celebration
Following the foster period, we will have a final celebration where puppies that have been adopted will go to their forever home. Puppies that have not yet been adopted will either stay with their foster parents until adoption or return to The Village until adoption.
