The "Olympia" Litter
Born January 19th, 2024
Olympia and her six pups were found on the streets, where they were doing their best to survive day in and day out, under threat of predators, ever changing weather, and never constant or reliable food sources.
Thankfully (and against all odds), a kind human found them and reached out to Doglando Foundation with a request that we sign up to provide them a place of refuge, as a rescue was needed in order for this family to be taken off the streets. Of course, we were unable to say no.
Olympia and her family arrived at the Foundation’s Doglando campus in early March. Despite traveling more than 24 hours in cramped quarters, Momma and her pups were immediately responsive to our welcoming committee, allowing us to help them decompress with massages, hugs, and warm baths.
Since their arrival, this family has been cared for by many volunteers. They always happily welcome each human team to their den, engaging in play, long walks, and the beginning stages of training. They’re learning basic skills such as name recall, how to interact with and approach other dogs and humans, and soon will be learning how to swim. Recently they’ve migrated to foster homes, where they’ll learn how to live in a real home with hopes of finding their very own one day.
Olympia (the mom) is still available for adoption!
